The Ouija Board and the Search for Reggie
Reg’s car had just been located when someone suggested that we ask a Ouija board some questions. I had little faith in this approach and normally would have had no interest in it, but I participated in—or observed—the second session.
I wrote down the questions and answers. At the time, we had no way of knowing what would eventually be found. Looking back, some of the answers were remarkably close to what happened.
I don’t offer this as an explanation for what happened, only as part of the story of those extraordinary days.

Looking Back at the Answers
Some of these answers became particularly striking in retrospect. Reggie’s remains were found scattered in the woods, and his skull was found in a clearing beneath a tree.
The references to birds also took on an unexpected significance for our family because of events that happened afterward.
